Volunteer

FODI does not coordinate volunteers. Volunteering is run through the Dinosaur Isle Museum itself.

The museum has an established workforce, but there is always plenty more work to be done. Dinosaur Isle welcomes volunteers to help at the museum. Volunteers enrich the skill set at the museum. They help to work towards providing an inspirational experience for visitors to enjoy.

Volunteering at the museum usually means working in the laboratory.

This can include:

  • helping to catalogue the collection.

  • preparing out or conserving the specimens.

  • speaking to the public at the open laboratory window.

Volunteers can gain experience and knowledge by helping with events and exhibitions. There is always opportunity to assist with fieldwork, such as site excavations.
